TOURNAMENT RULES

  • AVERAGE
    a) New bowlers will use their 06-07 and 07-08 composite yearbook average.  A bowler without 06-07 or 07-08 yearbook average may use their current composite league average provided he/she has bowled at least 21 games or more.  Bowler must provide verification certified by his/her local association secretary or league’s standing sheet with date, provided he/she has bowled at least 21 games or more.  No handwritten verification will be accepted.
    b)
    • Out of town bowlers must bring verification of average; Copy of 06-07 and 07-08 page of association book, listing association name and copy of page with bowlers name and average.  No handwritten verification will be accepted.
    c) If bowler does not have 06-07, 07-08, or current 21 game average, bowler must use scratch average of 220.
    d) Any bowler averaging more than 10 pins higher in a current league must report this to a tournament director for a possible re-rate.
       
    HANDICAP
      Handicap will be based on 90% of 220.  If the bowler has no verifiable average, he/she may enter at 0 pins handicap.  Maximum handicap is 50 pins for men and 60 for women. 
       
    ELGIBILITY
    a) PBA-exempt or PBA/PWBA former touring members will not be permitted to bowl.
    b) Any bowler who is employed or owns any portion of a business in the bowling center in which the tournament is held will not be permitted to bowl.
    c) Any bowler with an average of 225 or higher will not be permitted to bowl in the handicap division.
    d) You must be at least 18 years of age.
    e) Non US Citizens are not eligible to bowl.
       
    FORMAT
    a) QUALIFYING ROUND:  3 games across 6 lanes.  Total pin fall plus handicap determines bowlers cut to semis.  Re-entries are permitted, however; bowler can only cash once per event.
    b) SEMI-FINALS:  3 games across 6 lanes.  Format varies based on number of bowlers cut to semis.  Top 5 bowlers will be cut to finals.  Ties for top 5 will be broken in a 1 game roll off.
    c) FINALS:  Finals for our handicap division will be held in stepladder format.
       
    DRESS CODE
      No short shorts or midriff tops are allowed.  Collared shirts preferred but not required.
       
    DISQUALIFICATION (No monies will be refunded)
      The bowler will be automatically disqualified if:
    a) His or her conduct or abuse of bowling center equipment is detrimental to the best interests of the Florida Bowlers Classic and its members.
    b) Any incorrect score purposely recorded.  Bowlers are responsible to see that score sheets are filled in accurately, and signed.
       
    TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO RE-RATE OR REFUSE ANY ENTRY AND HAS FINAL DECISION ON ALL RULE DISPUTES
